We had identified unclaimed funds with a value in the region of £6,500 which were due to a gentleman who had died in the 1960’s. He was unmarried and had no siblings. The family had moved from the registered address in the 1940’s.

To locate a relative or someone who knew the wider family, and then formally establish the right of inheritance for next of kin.

Using our extensive data bases we eventually tracked down a relative and he told us all about the history of the individual and his family. In fact the deceased had left his home and its extensive grounds to the nation and it is a well known and popular attraction to this day. The £6,500 recovered was likely used towards the upkeep of the family home.

To positively identify the property and then try to locate a relative.

Following several months of detailed research our perseverance and determination lead us to the deceased’s daughter - now living far away from the original address. We undertook the recovery and she was delighted with the eventual result.

We were searching for a lady whose unclaimed funds exceeded £40,000 but it appeared she had never lived at the registered address.

Track down previous owners/tenants and establish a connection with the lady, and then locate relatives. We would then need to assist with the application for Representation.

We knew we would have to expand our normal range of options but eventually we tracked down the previous owner of the property now living abroad. With his help made contact with the lady’s son now in his late 80’s. He was happy to proceed but complications with her Domicile at the time of her death resulted in a five year delay before the funds were paid out to the estate.
